Centro Cultural São Lourenço
The Cultural Centre was created from a number of attractive old Portuguese houses which can be found just below the beautiful Church of São Lourenço east of Almancil.
In 1981 the late Volker and Marie Huber opened the doors of their Art Gallery dealing in the works of some of the finest international contemporary artists. Since then both the premises and the range of activities have been extended to include literature (Gunter Grass is a regular visitor) and Music as well as projects designed to stimulate the creativity of children. Today it is one of the Algarve’s most prestigious and influential cultural institutions having an enthusiastic following and a pan-European reputation for excellence and high quality presentation.
