PEDRO FERRO
Born into a family of musicians, Pedro Ferro started studying the piano with his father at the age of four. He continued his studies at the national conservatory of Lisbon where he obtained his first piano diploma in 2000 with highest distinction. The same year he was admitted to the Music High School of Lisbon as first candidate and obtained his diploma in piano with Professor Tania Achot and in chamber music with professor Olga Prats. At the moment he is studying interpretation with pianist and Professor Antonio Rosado. Participated in classes and masterclasses by Helene Sa e Costa, Paul Badura-Skoda, Pedro Burmester, Sequeira Costa, Vladimir Viardo, Francisco Sassetti and Maria Joao Pires. Won different prizes at national piano comptetitions and in 1999 was awarded a scholarship by the Yamaha Musical Foundation of Europe. He has already played in various concert halls in Portugal as soloist or with orquestra. He recently played several times in concerts transmitted by the classical portuguese radio programmef Antena 2. Pedro Ferro has been teaching at the

Conservatorios of Tomar and Setubal and since 2005 at the Music Academy of the Tejo National Orchestra. In January 2009 he was invited to participate in the Vieira da Silva International Colloquium.
