Marc Grauwels, the world famous Belgian flautist, will give two concerts. The first with guitarist Yves Storms will consist of pieces by Giuliani, Mozart, Piazzolla, Villa-Lobos and Ravi Shankar. The second with Jöelle Hanssens-Grauwels will have pieces by Telemann, Emannuel Bach, Drouet, Debussy and others.
Marc’s talent and eclecticism as a soloist has inspired some one hundred composers to write specially for him. He taught for 15 years at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and today he holds a chair as titular professor at the Royal Conservatory of Mons. He participated in the recording of the sound track of Forman’s acclaimed film Amadeus. Marc has made more than 40 CDs as a soloist. Internationally acclaimed Belgian guitarist Yves Storms studied under Segovia, Bream, Williams and Brouwer. He has played at the Imperial Court in Tokyo and for Queen Fabiola and has performed all over the world. Several composers have dedicated new works to him. Belgian violinist Jöelle Hanssens has had a remarkably diverse musical career as a concert player and has a passion for Gipsy music. She also teaches children having developed a playful method adapted for three year olds.
Members and guests are asked to be at the Centro Cultural at around 1900. Concerts start at 1930.
